Open Question: iPod touch jailbreak (3G) FAQ?
I am pretty sure I'm going to buy an iPod touch.
(Probably from http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-touch-Latest-version-Launched/dp/B002MRRRPA - If that matters :D) - Is this the l8st
and I am researching the jailbreaking. My questions are:
1) Can the latest version, shown in the link, be "Jailbroken"
2) If i jailbreak it, does it downgrade it a firmware, or is it still 3.1.3 just with jailbreak
3) Can you restore any jailbroken device, as some sites say some tools won't restore properly...
4) What are every the repositorys?? (Cydia OR Icy OR Rock)?? are there others
5) Whats the difference between the repos.
6) Is 3.1.3 the latest F/W and does it arrive with the iPod touch latest?? (From link)
7) If i jailbreak it can i still use app store...and l8st official apps

Open Question: centre text within line html?
im trying to create a menu that when i am on the relevant page, the menu item is enlarged. I have achieved this using the following code but i am not glad with the way the text enlarges the text enlarges both to the right and downwards like this: _______________ |_____| | | | | | | | |_______________| (i think this will screw up a bit in yahoo but you receive the gist) where the tiny box is the outlines of the original tiny text and the larger box is the larger text (with text keeping same ratio, obviously how can i receive the text to enlarge in this style: _______________ | | |_____ | |_____| | | | |_______________| the only was i can think to do this is centre the text within the line it is contained in but i don't know how to do this, i tried the css align-vertical:middle but this did not wor here is my html so far: #submenu { font-size: 25px; font-weight: bold; text-transform: lowercase; letter-spacing: -2px; margin-top:-30px; } #submenu a { font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; padding:10px; text-transform: lowercase; letter-spacing: -2px; position:absolute; }

Open Question: Help with Pell Grant...?
I'm supposed to be getting the Pell Grant for the 2009-2010 school year, but as there's only one semester left, the person that I talked to at the school didn't know if I was going to receive the full amount or just a partial amount. I've looked at the Pell Grant FAQ and am still waiting for the school to call me back with an answer. If anyone knows the answer to my question, an answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Open Question: How to setup/install keyboard hot-keys (not shortcuts)?
I bought a Sweex keyboard with 14 hot-keys like open the browser, media player, switch songs, set volume etc. Here is a link to it http://www.sweex.com/en/assortiment/input/keyboards/KB100US
There was no CD or manual in the package and no firmware or manual on the web site either, no FAQ's. I sent a message some while ago, but they haven't answered yet. I know i can create shortcuts to everything I want, like Ctrl+Alt+w for media player, but I want to use the hot-keys - after every I payed for them. I could not find any help on the internet so I wish someone here will know what to do, and i know i'm not the only one with this problem.

Open Question: anchor inside of an option box?
I am in the process of creating a website for my car club. I would like to have a specific page called "receive to know us!". In the page I would to have an option box (Where you click it and select which member you would like to receive to know) and then have it bring you to their bio on the same page but below. (sort of like most FAQ pages). Similar to what PerezHilton.com has in the left hand column labeled "Starseeker", I believe. I am using iWeb 09 on a macbook. I know how to create an option box and I know how to create an anchor, I just dont know how to add the two together. Please help asap!!!! thank you!..

Open Question: SIMS 2 CRASHING PROBLEM?
Okay, I went through the entire FAQ on the SimsWiki and it didn't do ANYTHING. I'm completely confused.
What's Happening:
When I'm playing, randomly I'll receive an mistake message that says "The application has crashed. The application will now terminate". This occurs when I load another lot, go back to the neighborhood, leave an area, etc. In other words, it's really only during loading screens. It's been when the game loads since I tried to fix it (following the steps in the FAQ, I need to add. I really don't think I fucked it up myself but I guess anything's possible). I need to know if it's a problem with my custom content, or the game itself. Last time I had the game installed, it alternated between not loading the disk, sending me to the blue screen of death, or actually working occasionally. Maybe my disk's just fucked up, I have no idea. If you need the specs on my laptop I can send them. Someone, ffs, please help?

Open Question: I need an email contact from a department in the FBI for questions concerning criminal background checks?
I'm in a foreign country and need a criminal background check from the United States, where I am a citizen. I went to the American Embassy here and they referred me to FBI.GOV to request the check, however a set of fingerprints is required in order for them to complete this request and I don't know whether I can complete their download-able fingerprint card at a local police station here or if it has to be done back in the States. The check is needed in order for me to obtain a work allow here (Romania) and their contact email concerning these types of questions sends me a fail notice whenever I try to reach them (do@leo.gov)

Open Question: What are all these timers on different buildings in social city app on facebook ?
I just started playing this app today and every i look is timers on every my building going on and on! i don't understand the concept of that, plus what is the difference between the factory and the loading dock?
Why does the factory finishes quick while the loading dock takes days to finish a single contract?
I know I'm new with this app but what started as a promising game turned very frustrating in no time..!

Resolved Question: YouTube Account Got Deleted?
Okay so, I deleted my YouTube account by accident. I know what your thinking " How do you delete a account by accident? " Well, I was having issues. Let's just leave it at that.
But anyways, now I can't make a new account because whenever I try to it says I can't because it is linked to my old account. And when I go on my Google account, I can't receive rid of my old Youtube info.
Anyone help? Please? I tried calling Google but, of course they aren't in service on Sundays nor do the people there talk with you live. I REALLY want my account back, or at least be able to make a new one.
I looked on the FAQ's and nothing seemed to help. So anyone know how i can make a new account? And how to receive rid of my old Youtube info?
And, I can still view my old playlists, videos, and channel page.

Resolved Question: Netspend driving me crazy!!!?
Ok, so I go to college, and my parents set me up with a Netspend account. I have a prepaid netspend visa debit card. I'm trying to add money to my card, with my mom's debit card ( transfer money from her card to mine) and when I register it (there's no problem with my mom's card, it has funds) it tells me that I can only have 3 cards/accounts set up to transfer me money and I've reached my maximum of cards.
My mom's been the only one to transfer me money, and only with one card! so how have I reached my maximum!? I'm so frustrated!!!!
I went to the faq and it told me that if I've reached my maximum to go to some sort of option, and that option doesn't even exist!! errr!!!!! and I've tried calling customer service and every I keep getting is "the number you have called is no longer in service"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what's going on here?!?!?!?!? someone help :( i'm new here, but I'll add the maximum number of pts I can to whoever can answere this for me. Open Question: Dell All-In-One 962 Printer problem?
After a marathon session by a computer wiz at my home last Wednesday, I've not been able to use several functions on my Dell every-In-One Printer 962. The power comes on and I can copy, but I'm not able to print any documents from my computer.
Here's the message that pops up:

In addition, a window continues to pop up that states:
Dell Photo AIO Printer 962-USB Port
Communication Not Available
The printer cannot communicate with the computer.
Try these solutions:
-Disconnect and reconnect the printer's power cable.
-Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
-Restart your computer.
I've tried each of these solutions to no avail.
I checked the Windows Update section and viewed recent history where it indicated that every updates were successfully installed except the one for the printer. The entry states, Dell Inkjet Drivers-Printers-Dell Photo AIO Printer 962 and then shows possible solutions to include FAQ's, Find Solutions, and Windows Update Newsgroup (every 908 pages!), but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.
When I e-mailed the computer guy about this, he wrote back to receive on Dell's website and download drivers from them, which I did, but after going through the downloading and installing processes twice, the very same windows pop up again.
Any thoughts on what else I should do? Many thanks for your collective thoughts!

Open Question: I can't hear anyone in Vent, they can hear me?
Okay, I've been searching the internet for a solution to this and I've tried every troubleshooting procedure out there. I've re-installed, I've messed with the SFX settings, I'm running it in admin mode, I'm not muted, nobody has me muted, and I've restarted my computer about three times. I used to play games and talk on Vent every the time, up until about a month ago it was working fine, then I logged on and I can't hear anyone, but apparently they can hear me. I've checked my Realtek HD audio and that's every fine too. Also, I've made sure to check for any driver updates for my computer and I have the latest version of Vent. silly thing is, vent was actually working for about 15 minutes tonight, then I leave and arrive back and it's not working again. It makes the sound that says I'm connected, but after that I can't even hear the push to talk noise. wish someone can help, because as of right now it nice of seems like this is a growing issue and nobody has figured out how to fix it yet. Sadly, someone asked on the Vent forums, and they got directed to the FAQ, which was not any help. If I figure out a way to fix this I'll be sure to post it everywhere, but in the mean time, I would greatly appreciate it if someone already knows the fix. Thanks in advance!

Voting Question: Is there MSG in this?
I have to avoid eating MSG. I like Barbara's Bakery Nature's Choice Cereal Bars.
Blueberry Filling (Fruit Juice Concentrate (Pineapple, Peach and Pear), Blueberry Puree, Tapioca Starch, Apple Powder, Natural Blueberry Flavor, Vegetable Glycerin, Locust Bean Gum, Red Cabbage (As A Color Enhancer)), Pineapple Juice Syrup, Oat Flour, Barley Flour, Date glue, Oat Flakes, Rice Flour, Apple Powder, Expeller-Pressed Canola Oil, Tapioca Starch, Raisin Juice Concentrate, Malted Barley Extract, Pear Powder, Natural Flavor, Sea Salt, Aluminum Free Baking Powder, Baking Soda.
Those are the ingredients. There are various websites on Google that say that "Malted Barley Extract" and "Natural Flavors" have MSG in them. However, on Barbara's Bakery website they list FAQ's and it states:
"Q: What are natural flavors and colors? Can you give some examples?
A: Examples of natural flavors include spices, vanilla extract, almond extract, lemon oil, chocolate extract and herbs. Many of our natural flavors are derived from spices, fruits, vegetables and plant materials. Barbara's natural flavors or colors never contain refined white sugar, preservatives, artificial flavors, petroleum derivatives or monosodium glutamate (MSG). We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that only the most natural ingredients are used and meet Barbara's high quality standards.
Barbara's natural coloring ingredients include annatto, turmeric, and vegetable extracts. We do not use any FD&C colors in any Barbara's products. We only use naturally derived colors without synthetics."
Does that mean even though Malted Barley Extract and Natural Flavorings commonly have MSG in them, Barbara's Bakery products do not??

Ok so this summer I am going to Surprise Lake Jewish Camp (Im not jewish!) every my brothers and sisters went there. Just a few FAQ by me To an Expierience Or Exoerts out there.

Resolved Question: Help with Netflix account and profiles?
This is what the FAQ says. I put the **{{...}}** around the part that kinda confused me:
"Each member of your household can have a unique Netflix username, which is their profile. An account owner can create up to 4 additional profiles. **{{Each profile has its possess separate ratings history and recommendations, its possess community of Friends and its possess Queue, but cannot access our Watch Instantly feature}}** Parents can set limits on the maturity level of movies their younger family members can place in their Queue."
I'm the account holder. We receive 2 DVDs at a time. I'd like to make 2 profiles- one for myself and one for my husband so we can each pick a movie at a time, rate and review movies our possess way, etc...

2 questions, if you can help out:

1) Just to be clear on this before I set up any profiles at every... the account holder can still access the instant play feature, right? Would it be Owner, member 1 and then member 2's preferences?
Also...
2) When I began adding my possess personal profile, I was already listed on that page as Owner. Do I already have a profile I don't know about or would these be two different types of profiles? With the Owner profile, there's no password to go through or avatar picture option shown. In other words... if I create my possess, personal profile (aside from the Owner one that's already there) will my husband and I still be able to pick one movie each on our 2 DVD a month plan? I'm mostly wanting to set up my possess profile with profile pic, right now.

Voting Question: What is the story with the website "Knowledgerush"?
There's no FAQ or "about" page. What is it every about? Anybody figure it out?
I stumbled upon the website "Knowledgerush", and it has a list of authors, an encyclopedia, and a place to submit poems, but I'm really not sure what it's for? Is it networking? Or a social site? I'm just confused and there's no FAQ page or "About" page.
Anybody got a scoop on what this websites for? Or every about?

Resolved Question: Christians: What is evolution?
I would like for a Christian to give a good definition of evolution. I decided to ask this question after receiving the following as a response for Christians: What is the "atheist agenda"?:
"christians do not condemn education. if you mean the teaching of our kids that god does not exist, then go ahead and try. scientist have never been able to disprove the existence of god. if you want to continue to believe you came from an ape go ahead. in evolution a species evolves in order to survive. if we evolved from apes why didn't every apes evolve. science is 50% fact and 50% hypotheses. why tutor your kids to rely on an educated guess. scientist have tried their best to disprove well known miracles and could not. i'm not a christian myself, but i do believe in a higher power. call it god or whatever you want. we did arrive into existence by chance. let's say the theory of evolution is true and we did arrive from apes. who is to say that this higher power didn't use genetic engineering using his dna along with ape dna to create man is his image. or as close as he could receive. at least that would explain why only a few apes evolved and not every of them." -Jim
every this does is reinforce my belief that Jim's educational system has failed him. Every animal has evolved and is still. Modern apes have evolved from the same ancestor as modern humans. On an evolutionary family tree they would be like a cousin. So, to answer Jim's question, every apes did evolve, but a likely reason that modern apes are not as advanced is because of competition over resources. We every fill different ecological niches.

Resolved Question: What happens if there is no answer to your question on yahoo answers?
I had a question before, but no one responded to it. had 0 answers. than when i went back, it was deleted by yahoo... is this what happens if you receive 0 answers??? and do you receive your points back, it didn't look like I got my points back...
Also what if you ask a question, and every the answers are not correct. There is a option to click no best answer or something. What happens when i do that? Do i receive my points back etc... On the yahoo answer FAQ it says I should receive my 5 points back, but i didn't receive that either.

Voting Question: Earned all income in New York, lived in MA, is it necessary to file MA state tax return?
The first 10 months of 2009, I lived in Massachusetts and worked in New York. every of my 2009 income was earned in NY only. I will be filing a state return with NY. I also moved to FL from MA during the last two months of 2009 and live in FL now.
This is an excerpt from the mass.gov site on FAQ about taxes...
“ 1. When am I required to file a tax return in Massachusetts?
A Massachusetts full-year and/or part-year resident is required to file a tax return with the state of Massachusetts if his/her Massachusetts gross income is in excess of $8,000.”
Does this mean that since I earned every my income in NY, that my MA income is $0 (less than $8000)… meaning I don’t have to file a return with MA? Turbotax says I have no refund/tax due in MA (only NY). I don't want to pay for the MA return if I don't have to.

Resolved Question: Questions about "NetFlix". What happens if the DVD's are lost/stolen in the mail?
OK, to be short and blunt, I'm in Chicago and people are hired at the United States Postal Service by COLOR and not QUALIFICATIONS.
We have the worst postal system in the nation as of the last Statistical Survey and I'm lucky if I receive HALF of my bills each month.
It took from January 10th until February 23rd for a birthday card to receive to my home from where it was mailed 20 miles away.
The person that mailed that birthday card got a Christmas Card postmarked December 14 ON FEBRUARY 23rd!
There was that black postal employee in WI charged with stealing THOUSANDS of NetFlix DVD's...
I don't live in an area where this is a problem due to a handful of bad/dishonest employees... This is a CITY WIDE PROBLEM.
I don't want to arrive off as if this is just a "Racist Diatribe"... This situation with our Postal Service is proven, statistical, document fact... When half of every employees act as if you just woke them up from a nap and half of every your mail never makes it to or from your home... Something is broken!
I know that NetFlix has their "FAQ" sheet on their website but that is just the Copy/glue corporate guidelines...
I want to know what happens in REALITY when you order a disk and they either never show up or never make it back to them!
I can't afford to be charged $15.00 every time one of the DVD's is stolen out of the mail...

I recently applied for employment at abercrombie and at the end i had to pick the day for an interview. i pick april 2nd at 4pm and my question is: do i have to wait for them to notify me either by phone or e-mail to confirm the interview? or if they don't notify me should i just go there by the chosen day?
